There has been growing buzz around Yash’s upcoming pan-India film Toxic, with rumours suggesting another possible delay from its scheduled June 4, 2026 release date. The speculation around Toxic has been circulating since April 2026, fuelled by social media chatter and ongoing uncertainty linked to production updates. However, actor Tara Sutaria has now addressed the rumours and dismissed the claims during a recent appearance.
The Toxic release delay rumours gained traction due to multiple factors, including past postponements and a lack of fresh promotional material. The film was earlier shifted from March 19 to June 4, reportedly due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Now, fresh speculation suggested the project could be delayed again. But the makers have not issued any official confirmation.
Toxic Release Delay Rumours Spark Online Speculation
Toxic release delay rumours began spreading rapidly across fan communities and entertainment portals. According to industry chatter, several reasons were being linked to the alleged delay. One major point of discussion was post-production work, especially high-end VFX and background score enhancements.
Reports also suggested that lead actor Yash was not fully satisfied with early outputs, leading to additional refinements. This, in turn, is believed to have affected the post-production timeline.
Another layer of speculation pointed towards internal challenges at KVN Productions. There were claims that issues linked to leaks from another project, Jana Nayagan, may have caused operational disruptions. This reportedly impacted scheduling across multiple productions, including Toxic.

What We Know About The Film So Far
Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas, with Mohandas also directing the project. The film stars Yash in the lead role alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria.
The film was first announced in 2023 and went on floors in 2024. It is being shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, marking it as one of the most ambitious pan-India projects in recent years.
The teaser of Toxic had earlier sparked controversy after some scenes drew criticism online. While some viewers called it grossly obscene and sexually explicit, others defended the creative vision. The Women’s Commission also raised concerns over its depiction, while a Christian group filed a complaint with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Despite the backlash, the team has continued work on the project.
Tara Sutaria’s first look as Rebecca was unveiled earlier this year, receiving strong attention online. Director Geetu Mohandas also shared a heartfelt note praising the actor’s performance and emotional depth.
