The recent Yo Yo Honey Singh concert in Mumbai has taken an unexpected turn online. A viral video showing a female fan trying to climb over a gate sparked debates about consent and privacy, and now the woman herself has come forward to share her side of the story.
The incident happened on March 28 at the MMRDA Grounds during Honey Singh’s “My Story – India Chapter” concert. A large crowd had gathered for the event, and while many videos showed fans enjoying the concert, one clip quickly caught attention. It showed a young woman trying to climb over a locked gate after reportedly being denied entry despite having a valid ticket.
Viral Girl Speaks After Yo Yo Honey Singh Concert Chaos
The woman, identified as Roohi, later shared a video on Instagram explaining what happened. She started by apologising for her behaviour and said it happened in the heat of the moment.
Roohi revealed that she had been waiting outside for around 40–50 minutes. She also said that she suffers from anxiety and claustrophobia, which made it difficult for her to stay in a crowded space.
Explaining why she climbed the gate, she said, “I climbed, thinking that being a girl, if I climbed up, they would open the gates, and actually they did. After two minutes, they opened the gate for all of us.”
Roohi admitted that her actions were wrong. However, she said the bigger issue was what happened after the video went viral online.
She said, “The video was recorded. It was circulated all over the internet, where my private body was unintentionally exposed without my consent. And that is a crime.”
She also shared that she tried to report the issue to Instagram and cybercrime authorities before posting her video, but no strict action was taken. Speaking about how it affected her, she added, “And I honestly feel this must have happened to so many of us, wherein some sort of content is posted online, which we do not want, but there is no such way to take it down unless you know you are a powerful man. I felt helpless in this situation. Seeing the hate in the comments was really overwhelming for me. It was honestly heartbreaking because I’ve never been in that situation.”
Girl Talks About Honey Singh’s Reaction, Calls For Action
Amid the controversy, Yo Yo Honey Singh had earlier shared the viral clip on his Instagram Stories and called her a “Sherni”. Reacting to this, Roohi said, “When Honey Singh himself posted the story saying, Sherni fan of mine, I felt a little relieved that, okay, there are people looking at it in a decent way who are actually supporting me. Most of all, my own family supported me to make this video, that you should go out there and tell people the right story. And I’m grateful for that.”
She also used this moment to raise awareness about online consent. Roohi urged authorities and social media platforms to take stricter action against such content.
She said, “It should be taken strictly, is what my request is to all the authorities, Instagram, or any social platform for that matter. They should make strict rules that if a content is being posted online, which is against the violation, which is against somebody’s rights, it should be removed with immediate effect. Thank you (sic).”
The situation reportedly began when organisers shut the gates due to overcrowding, leaving many ticket holders waiting outside.
