Elvish Yadav

In a recent development, the Noida police apprehended popular YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner, Elvish Yadav, in connection with the illicit sale of snake venom at rave parties within the National Capital Region. This arrest comes following a detailed investigation initiated after a tip-off from People for Animals, a renowned NGO headed by BJP Sultanpur MP Maneka Gandhi.

Background

In November 2023, the Noida police made a breakthrough by arresting five individuals suspected of involvement in the illegal trade of snake venom. This arrest took place at the Chevron banquet hall in Noida Sector 51, based on information provided by the aforementioned NGO. Although Elvish Yadav was implicated in the case, he had evaded arrest at that time. Subsequent interrogations and evidence collection by the police led to his apprehension.

Accusations and Allegations

The FIR, filed on the complaint of Gaurav Gupta, an animal welfare officer associated with the NGO, shed light on the grave accusations against Elvish Yadav. It stated that Yadav, along with accomplices, orchestrated illicit activities involving snake venom and live snakes in farmhouses across Noida and the NCR. These activities allegedly included organizing unauthorized rave parties where foreign nationals were invited, and intoxicants, including snake venom, were consumed.

Seizures and Forensic Findings

During the police operation, a significant quantity of snake venom, along with several live snakes, was seized. Among the confiscated items were five cobras, one python, two two-headed snakes, and a rat snake. Further investigations revealed that the snake venom contained krait venom, as confirmed by samples sent to the forensic science laboratory in Jaipur.

Legal Ramifications

The FIR lodged against Elvish Yadav and his associates encompasses various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including criminal conspiracy (section 120B), and several sections of The Wildlife (Protection) Act, including sections 9, 39, 48A, 49, 50, and 51. This indicates the seriousness of the charges levied against them and underscores the legal consequences they may face.
