Zomato Slammed For Offering Special Treatment To Gaurav Taneja, Netizens Say ‘Normal Banda Hota Toh 4 Ghante…’

Zomato is facing backlash online over what many are calling “influencer privilege.” The brand recently sent a special birthday hamper to popular YouTuber Gaurav Taneja, aka Flying Beast, after his cake order was cancelled due to heavy rain. While the gesture looked kind and thoughtful, many users felt Zomato wouldn’t have done the same for a regular customer.

Gaurav recently shared the pictures of the gift on X (formerly Twitter). The hamper had colourful balloons, snacks, a flask, and a handwritten note that said, “You’ve always shown us so much love. So today, on your special day (and ours too), we wanted to send some back in your style.” 

The message even mentioned his parents, wife Ritu, and daughter Rasbhari, referring to his recent gesture of buying a home for his family.

The note ended with a fun line: “Flask toh return gift hai, next time cheesecake bhi time pe hoga. Pakka. Pinky promise.”

Zomato Faces Flak For Partiality Towards Common People

While the message touched Gaurav, it annoyed many online. One user said, “Normal banda hota toh 4 ghante chat karna padta sirf refund ke liye.”

Another wrote, “General public would have gotten Rs 75 coupon on an order of Rs 1500 (non-refundable).”

Many pointed out that Zomato’s move showed an unfair difference in how influencers and regular users are treated. Some felt that brands now focus more on keeping influencers happy for marketing and publicity stunts than on serving everyday customers.
