Kapil Sharma's 'Zwigato' to have India premiere at International Film Festival of Kerala

Zwigato:  The film Zwigato had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and Asian premiere at Busan International Film Festival.  Directed by Nandita Das and featuring Kapil Sharma, the film is all set to premiere in India at the 27th International Film Festival of Kerala. It will be the opening film in the Kaleidoscope section of the festival. The screenings are on December 10 and 13.

Content studio Applause Entertainment took to social media to share the announcement. "An exciting delivery is on its way! After soaring high at Toronto and Busan, we are thrilled to share that our film 'Zwigato' helmed by Nandita Das, starring Kapil Sharma and Shahana Goswami, is all set to premiere in India at the International Film Festival of Kerala," the banner said . "Selected as the opening film in the festival's 'Kaleidoscope' section, the film will be screened on the 10th and 13th of December," it further said.

Zwigato is written and directed by Nandita Das and features Kapil Sharma as a food delivery rider who grapples with the world of ratings and algorithms. Shahana Goswami plays his wife and a homemaker, who starts to work for the first time only to support his income.

Bitter sweet life

It is the story of the relentless struggle of life, but there are also shared moments of joy. The film is set in Bhubaneswar, Odisha and captures the lives of invisible ‘ordinary’ people that are hidden in plain sight.  The film is life-like - bitter-sweet.

The International Film Festival of Kerala begins from December 9th to 16th at Trivandrum. 

The upcoming edition of the IFFK will showcase 184 movies from around 70 countries across 15 theatres in Thiruvananthapuram.
