Covid-19 update: India add 46,254 cases, 514 fatalities

India reported 46,254 fresh cases of covid-19 infection, pushing the total tally to 83,13,877. With 514 new fatalities, the death toll has mounted to 1,23,611.

The total active cases in the country are 5,33,787 as 53,357 more patients recuperated in the last 24-hour, said the latest report by Health Ministry. The total number of recoveries has surged to 76,03,121 and exceed active cases by 70,61,716, the ministry highlighted.

The covid-19 rate in the country have further topped 91 per cent.

Here’s some more information related to the covid-19 pandemic:

*Kerala reported the highest number of new cases at 6,862 in last 24-hour, followed by Delhi with 6,725.

*Testing facility for covid-19 for domestic and international departing passengers has commenced at the Delhi Airport from Wednesday.

*With the number of covid-19 cases declining in Pune, the health authorities have allowed private hospitals to provide oxygen-supported beds to patients suffering from other diseases.

*Chinese mainland reported 17 new confirmed cases on Tuesday, down from 49 a day earlier, the health authority said.

*With the number of new coronavirus infections falling down, the demand for oxygen and drugs like Remdesivir has fallen, the Food and Drug Control Administration (FDCA) said on Tuesday.

*Italy has imposed a nationwide overnight curfew and tighter restrictions over some hotspots where covid-19 cases are surging.

*Mexico’s health ministry registered 5,250 additional cases of the novel coronavirus and 493 more deaths in the country on Tuesday. The total number of cases rose to 938,405 and the death toll mounted to 92,593.

*101 new covid-19 cases were reported in Mizoram in the last 24-hour, taking the cumulative total to 2,893 in the state.

*Over 850,000 children in the US have tested positive for the covid-19, a report said.

Meanwhile, the overall number of global coronavirus cases has topped 47.3 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 1,211,990, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
