India has logged in 62,224, lowest since March 29, new cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare added. 2,542 fatalities due to the virus in the last 24 hours, according to data released by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.
India’s overall tally of Covid-19 cases now stands at 2,96,33,105 while the death toll stands at 3,79,573 deaths. The active cases have come down below 10 lakh. The country has 8,65,432 active cases.
A total of 1,07,628 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total discharge to 2,83,88,100 till date, the health Ministry said.
A total of 383,306,971 samples have been tested for the Covid-19 disease till now of which 1,930,987 were tested in the last 24 hours, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said on Wednesday.
The country has so far inoculated 259,044,072 beneficiaries so far, of which 3,927,154 were inoculated in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, overall global Covid-19 caseload has topped 176.5 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 3.81 million, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
