Does Non Vegetarian Food Cause Cancer? – The debate around food and cancer never seems to end. One day, carbs are the enemy. The next, sugar is blamed for everything. And very often, non vegetarian food is dragged into the cancer conversation. Scroll through social media, and you will find strong opinions, scary claims and confusing advice. But does eating non-veg really lead to cancer? A recent video by cancer healer Doctor Tarang Krishna is now challenging this belief and offering a much clearer, science-backed perspective.

In his Instagram video, the doctor addresses a question that many people quietly worry about but rarely get a straight answer to.

Does Non Vegetarian Food Cause Cancer? Doctor Explains The Science

Doctor Tarang Krishna makes one thing very clear. Eating non vegetarian food does not directly cause cancer. He explains that the real problem is not the food itself, but how it is cooked. According to him, the veg-versus-non veg argument often misses the bigger picture.

He says he is not against eating non vegetarian food. Instead, he is strongly against improper cooking methods. When meat is cooked the wrong way, especially at very high temperatures, it can trigger changes that increase cancer risk over time.

The science behind this is important. When meat is fried, grilled, or barbecued at high heat, harmful chemicals called heterocyclic amines (HCAs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are formed. These compounds can damage DNA inside the body. Over time, this damage may raise the risk of cancer, particularly colon cancer and stomach cancer.

So, the fear around non-veg food is not entirely baseless – but it is often misdirected. The risk comes from burnt, overcooked, or charred meat not from eating meat itself.

How To Eat Non-Veg Safely And Lower Cancer Risk

You do not need to completely cut non-veg food out of your life to stay healthy. Doctor Tarang Krishna stresses that small changes in cooking habits can make a big difference.

First, avoid cooking meat on very high flames. Slow cooking or cooking on a medium flame reduces the formation of harmful compounds. Second, always remove any burnt or blackened portions before eating. Those charred bits carry the highest risk.

He also recommends balancing your plate. Adding plenty of vegetables and fibre-rich foods helps support digestion and overall gut health. This simple habit can further reduce cancer risk.

Cancer prevention is not just about avoiding certain foods. It is also about cooking smarter and eating mindfully. So the next time someone asks, “Does non vegetarian food cause cancer?” the answer is more balanced than a simple yes or no. According to medical insight, it is not the meat, but the method that truly matters.
