Egg Test: Trusted Egg Brands Tested Blind – Results May Make You Rethink Your Breakfast Plan, Check Video

Egg Test results from a blind lab study reveal gaps between egg label claims and actual nutrition values. No banned carcinogenic drugs were detected, but the findings may change how you view your daily eggs.

Eggs are part of daily meals for many households. They are seen as simple, affordable and packed with protein. But how accurate are the claims printed on egg cartons? And how safe are the eggs we eat every morning? A recent blind egg test by Trustified has raised fresh questions and sparked curiosity online. The video detailing the test is now making people pause and look twice at their breakfast plate.

Trustified is India’s first and only 100% blind testing certification programme. In this exercise, the focus was on four branded egg products commonly sold across states. The idea was not to label any brand as good or bad. This is important to understand upfront.

None of the eggs tested were marked as pass or fail. That level of judgement requires six or seven layers of testing. Due to the high cost and time involved, Trustified chose a more focused approach this time. The aim was to answer the biggest concern among consumers – nutritional accuracy and the presence of banned carcinogenic drugs.

So, the testing was limited to two levels. One checked macro accuracy, such as protein, carbs, and fats. The other checked for banned carcinogenic drugs.

To ensure fairness, most egg samples were collected directly by the lab. Only one brand, Yojana, was not easily available. That pack was blind-ordered, carefully bubble-wrapped, and sent for testing. This helped keep the process unbiased.

Egg Test Results From Lab Examination

The first product tested was Yojana Poultry Egg

The company claims 12.5 grams of protein. The lab report found 11.22 grams. The brand does not mention carbs or fats on the pack. However, the lab measured these values per 100 grams and displayed them in the report. When tested for banned drugs, none were detected. All values were below the LOQ, which means below the detectable limits.

Next came Fruit Protein Max

This brand claims 14.72 grams of protein. The lab found 13.26 grams. Carbohydrates were claimed at 0.99 grams, while the lab found 0.91 grams. Fat was claimed at 9.74 grams, and the lab result showed 9.93 grams. Importantly, no banned drug residues were found. All results were below LOQ.

The third product was Licious Classic Eggs

The company claims 13 grams of protein. The lab report showed 12.35 grams. The differences in carbs and fats, as claimed versus tested, were also recorded per 100 grams. Like the other brands, no banned drug metabolites were detected.

The fourth and final product was Abhi Nutri Plus Eggs

This was blind tested. The brand claims 14 grams of protein. The lab found 12.52 grams. Carbohydrates were not mentioned on the pack, but the lab found 1.24 grams per 100 grams. Fat was claimed at 8 grams, while the lab result showed 9.42 grams. Once again, all banned drug metabolites were below LOQ.

What Consumers Should Take Away

This Egg Test does not say these brands are unsafe. It simply shows that label claims and lab results can differ. It also reassures that no banned carcinogenic drugs were detected in these samples.

Labels are useful, but independent testing adds clarity. As awareness grows, more people may start asking deeper questions about everyday foods. And that can only be a good thing in the long run. Well, did the test results make you rethink your breakfast plan? Tell us in the comments!
