Egg Test: Eggs are a staple in many Indian households. But a recent blind testing by the YouTube channel Trustified, India’s first and only 100% blind testing certification program, has revealed alarming findings about Eggoz Eggs. For the first time, the channel conducted blind testing on eggs, and the results have left viewers shocked.
Eggs come in different brands across regions, and no single brand dominates the entire country. After receiving numerous comments from viewers for ‘Eggoz’ egg test. Trustified decided to test this brand thoroughly. Since eggs are fragile, the lab collected the samples on their behalf. When the lab report came back, the channel host said they spent half an hour just staring at the results.
Egg Test: 6-Stage Blind Testing
Level One: Accuracy Testing
The first stage measured nutritional accuracy. Eggoz claims that 100 grams of their white eggs contain 13.5 grams of protein. According to the lab report shared by Trustified, it contained 13.39 grams (almost matching the claim). Carbohydrates were claimed at 0.57 grams, but the lab found 1.43 grams. For fats, the brand claimed 9 grams per 100 grams and testing showed roughly 8 grams. While the nutritional numbers were close, other findings were far more concerning.
Levels Two To Five: Safety Checks
Level Two tested for heavy metals. Most metals were below detectable limits, and only arsenic was found, still within the safe limit. Level Three checked for pesticides, and all were below detectable levels. Elemental copper appeared but remained safe. Microbiological testing in Level Four showed no harmful bacteria, and Level Five confirmed that antibiotics were undetectable.
The Final and Most Shocking Test
The last level tested for two banned drugs (Nitrofuran and Nitroimidazole). These drugs are reportedly used illegally in poultry to prevent infections and maintain egg production. Even tiny residues are highly carcinogenic, can damage DNA, affect the immune system, harm reproductive health and may even lead to cancer.
Trustified reported that using a top-level recognised method, the lab detected significant amounts of the Nitrofuran metabolite AOZ in Eggoz Eggs. After rechecking, the lab confirmed the results were accurate. Shockingly, Eggoz claims on its website: “No antibiotics used.”
What This Means For Consumers
The YouTube channel’s blind testing highlights potential hidden risks in Eggoz Eggs. While the eggs appear normal and nutritious, banned drugs could pose serious long-term health dangers. Verified, independent checks like these help consumers make informed choices. Eggoz Eggs may be popular regionally, but according to Trustified, health and safety should come first.
