Chaitra Navratri 2023: The auspicious occasion of Vasantik Navratri, a festival that celebrates the power and grace of the Goddess of Shakti, is set to begin on March 22nd. This year’s Navratri is said to be highly beneficial for all the devotees, as it brings good fortune from the very moment the Goddess Durga arrives until she departs. The auspicious arrival of the goddess on a boat on March 22nd and her farewell on an elephant on March 30th are set to bring great blessings to those who participate in the festivities.
Chaitra Navratri 2023 will begin on March 22nd
Preparations for Chaitra Navratri 2023 are already underway in various temples across the country, such as Maa Mangalagauri Temple, Bela Kali Temple, Dukhaharini Temple, Maa Bagla Sthan Temple, Bageshwari Temple, Sheetla Mai Temple, and others. Devotees are all set to partake in the nine-day rituals of Goddess Durga, which will begin with the Kalash Sthapana on the morning of March 22nd.
According to Acharya Navinchandra Mishra Vaidik, the revered priest, the devotees should start the Saptashati lesson by setting up the Kalash for the nine-day rituals of Goddess Durga in Vasantik Navratri. As per the almanacs, the arrival of Bhagwati is taking place on the boat since Navratri starts from Wednesday.

The departure will be on March 30th
Mata, the goddess durga, will leave on Friday, March 30th, riding on an elephant. This time, both the arrival and departure of the mother are deemed auspicious. According to the Pujari, arriving on the boat brings success and welfare, and farewell on an elephant is likely to bring good fortune for the devotees. Additionally, the four-day Chaiti Chhath fast will start on March 25th with Nahay-Khay.
