Chef Ali Ahmed Aslam who invented Chicken Tikka Masala Passes Away at 77

Chicken Tikka Masala: There are numerous dishes from Indian cuisine that are popular around the world. Whether it’s the mouthwatering chicken tikka masala or the South Indian dosa, these dishes have a dedicated fan base around the world. However, did you know who created the chicken tikka masala? The delectable dish is credited to a cook by the name of Ali Ahmad Aslam. According to claims concerning the creation of chicken tikka masala, he did it in the 1970s. He died today, December 22, 2022, at the age of 77. Glasgow’s Shish Mahal restaurant, which was founded by Aslam, posted a moving homage to him on Facebook.

“Mr. Ali Passed away this morning….we are all absolutely devastated and heartbroken. The restaurant will be closed for the next 48 hours,”read Shish Mahal’s post. In the west area of Glasgow, Mr. Ali Aslam established the Shish Mahal restaurant after relocating there in 1964. The story goes that the chef was inspired to create chicken tikka masala when a customer complained that the chicken tikka was too dry to eat on its own. The chicken tikka masala was created when Chef Aslam later added a creamy tomato-based gravy prepared with tomato, cream, yoghurt, and spices to the snack. Indians throughout the world and citizens of the UK both love it now.

Netizens sending their condolences to the chef on social media

Many viewers responded to the news of chef Aslam’s passing. They recalled enjoying his creation, chicken tikka masala, at his Glasgow restaurant. “My first proper experience with curry. 1972.
