Masaba Gupta married her actor beau Satyadeep Misra, whom she met on the shooting of her namesake Netflix show Masaba Masaba, in an intimate court wedding ceremony. Masaba's wedding was a heartfelt ceremony, attended by her next of kin and friends who treated her like family. "Both Satyadeep and I donned the House of Masaba's new bridal collection, which has yet to be released. “I suppose this is the launch!" says the designer.

The bride chose a barfi pink raw silk lehenga with gold embroidery and a lime green dupatta with a wallflower print for a more maximal outfit, appealing for the return of color to wedding attire. "I believe it's all about doing tradition with a modern spin. It's both modern and versatile, yet it's also incredibly personal. "There's a kitsch quality to it," Masaba explains.

Masba Gupta explained her wedding outfits

Satyadeep and I both wore outfits from House of Masaba's upcoming bridal collection. I guess this is the start! The entire family is also dressed in Masaba's House. I've been working on this collection for a long time, and I wanted to challenge the stereotype of Indian brides wearing boring pastel colors like pastels and ivory. I believe that India is a place of celebration and color, and that wedding attire should reflect that.

As a result, I'm dressed in a barfi pink raw silk lehenga with gold embroidery and a lime green dupatta with a wallflower print. I chose the wallflower print because it's dainty, elegant, and very feminine, with little booties all over the organza and a totally sequined border. I wanted to do a double dupatta because I think it's always wonderful to have layers to drape on a bride, but what makes this piece unique is that I also did the connected veil, which is a new concept for me. It's attached to the shirt, but you can easily remove it with a pin.

The first organza dupatta has a gold sequin-embroidered heart on it. That is the entire concept—"the open heart." It's a running motif throughout the wedding—you can see it in the save-the-date invitations and everything else we're doing. I simply believe it is something that actually reminds us of ourselves—and that we entered this relationship with an open heart.

About the blouse

The blouse is simple—just a basic bustier with some embroidery—and I wanted to wear my mother's jewelery. I didn't want to buy anything new, but instead wanted to layer all of the vintage items she had accumulated over the years. I've done the chaand-sitara on the head, which is a motif of the sun and moon, which I believe are very essential in our life. Hair and makeup were kept simple. I adore kajal. I believe that brides should wear kajal; this is a really important day to do your shringar and dress up.

The personalized border is the most stunning element of the lehenga. It has the palm, the House of Masaba's original motif, as well as a bird embellishment. It symbolizes the confluence of tradition and freedom, in my opinion. By tradition, I mean the palm, which has been a part of the company since its inception and is now a brand emblem. It is historically decorated and has an old-world beauty, while the bird motif represents freedom.
