Karan Johar: Fimmaker Karan Johar is glamorous and so is his Mumbai home. In the latest edition of Architectural Digest, Karan has opened the doors to his luxe home designed by his friend and celebrity designer Gauri Khan. Gauri has given a luxe makeover to filmmaker Karan’s abode.
The magazine shared several photos from the house on their social media page. The pictures show a beaming Karan proudly showing off picturesque corners, plush looks, ornate furniture and artifacts amid a gorgeous vibe.
Grand furniture looks inviting
The living-dining space has two beige couches and a marble side table with gold metal base against two nesting coffee tables. A couch in blue plaid fabric and a couple of wood chairs look inviting. Behind one of the couches is the marble eight seater dining table. A large black and white artwork hangs above it.
There is another sitting area that is decorated with a jewel-toned green velvet couch and a white-black one. An imposing golden centre table rests between them. A fireplace next to the area is actually closed up and decorated with large candles and a showpiece instead.
The hallway has wooden flooring in a stylish Chevron pattern with doors on either sides. But the bathroom is the most stylish. It looks impressive in with a black countertop, black cabinets and black double basins. Gauri has used brown and white tiles in retro design on the floors. The massive light above the double vanity is eye catching.
Bedroom is grand
The bedroom is grand with beige, white and brown furnishings and a final, brightly lit and airy sitting area with white and blue seats and plants.
Speaking about the design for Karan’s home, Gauri told AD, “This home is bespoke; it’s one of a kind. It is designed to reflect who Karan is: glamorous, fun, and also a little over the top! It’s not a space that can be imitated.”
Karan lives in the mansion with his mother Hiroo Johar and kids Roohi and Yash.
