- Giving godly or goddess idols as gifts is not appropriate. Give it to someone who will honour them, care for them, and not offend them even if you do give it to them.
- If you are giving someone makeup, make sure the recipient is someone you get along well with. If not, your luck will probably get worse.
- Since a gift contains the spirit and energy of the giver, it should never be given to another individual. This is regarded as incorrect.
- Give no glass or sharp objects (knives, scissors, etc.) to anyone. This leads to a situation where there is strife in the home. Arguments with family members are more likely to occur. If you have been given this present, either donate it to someone in need or submerge it in water.
- Black clothes are something you should never give or receive as a gift. It is said to be a terrible omen to do so. This leads to a depressing situation. It is regarded as a cause of death as well. In the same way, avoid purchasing or giving gifts of all-white clothing.
- Never offer or accept shoes as a gift from someone. This, it is thought, divides the pathways of the two. Shani Dosh is also caused by it.
- Vastu holds that giving a watch as a gift halts progress and indicates bad luck. But the size of the watch also matters in this situation.
- Taking someone’s handkerchief as a present can lead to problems in your life. Thus, refrain from passing or receiving handkerchiefs.
