Indian farmers are eagerly waiting to receive the 20th round of 2,000 rupees in the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) Yojana, a central program that involves direct cash support to qualified farmers. Although the government has yet to declare the exact time, there are reports that the next instalment could be released in July 2025, with a slight delay compared to the current June schedule as announced by the government in the past.
The reason for the delay has not been disclosed, though the Agriculture Ministry has already issued a fresh advisory to farmers to ensure all their documents are updated and reject unreceived payments, reports Free Press Journal.
Key Requirements for Receiving the July Payment
To be able to get the 2000-rupee instalment of the PM Kisan Yojana, the following requirements must be met by the farmers:
-
Complete e-KYC: This will require electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC), which will be either online or at the nearest CSC (Common Service Centre).
-
Link Aadhaar with Bank Account: The Aadhaar card of the beneficiary should be attached to the same bank account that has been registered in PM-KISAN.
-
Verify Land and Account Details: Ownership records of the land ownership and bank account must be updated correctly at the concerned agriculture department of that state.
When a business ignores one of the given steps, it may cause a rejection or slight slowdown of payment. The release date of the 20th is not determined, yet it is likely to take place around the period of the middle or the end of July.
Why Timely Compliance Matters
Every instalment of PM Kisan is an urgent source of 2000 rupees to the farmers, which helps them to meet farm and home necessities. But in each cycle, thousands of applications are rejected on minor issues like incorrect bank details or the absence of land records.
The ministry encourages farmers not to wait until the last minute. Adherence at this stage will save time and nerves during the release of the instalment. Although the delay has not been officially notified, it can be prevented in time, thereby avoiding personal losses.
