The Jaipur Golden Hospital has told Delhi High Court that 25 patients admitted to its critical care unit died on Friday night due to shortage of oxygen.

"25 patients lost their lives yesterday due to shortage of oxygen. We are literally gasping for breath," Jaipur Golden Hospital said in its plea.

Yesterday Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has urged the Central government that the national capital is in serious need of oxygen supplies. In reply the centre also assured enough oxygen quota in Delhi.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed his condolences to the aggrieved families.

"The news of the death of several patients due to lack of oxygen in Jaipur Golden Hospital, Delhi is extremely tragic. My deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. I appeal to the State Govt and Congress workers to provide all possible assistance to their families," Gandhi said on Telegram.
