India is celebrating 74th Republic Day today on 26 January. On this occasion, a parade was taken out on the Kartavyapath. The indigenous military might of India and the power of women power was seen in this parade. Deadly weapons like Akash Missile, Arjun Tank on kartavyapath showed the valor of the army, the flight of 50 aircraft including Prachanda and Rafale in the sky displayed the power of the Indian Air Force beyond borders. This scene was going to make every Indian's chest swell with pride. 23 tableaux were also seen in the 90-minute parade. Tableaux of states and ministries and departments were included in these. While a glimpse of Ayodhya was seen in the tableau of UP, the tableau of a drug-free India by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the tableau of the Central Armed Police Force depicted 'women power'. In the end, 50 planes of Indian forces did the fly past.
President Draupadi Murmu hoisted the tricolor
This time the country saw history being made. For the first time in the country, tribal woman President Draupadi Murmu took the salute of the parade. She hoisted the national flag and after that the national anthem was played with a 21-gun salute. President Draupadi Murmu led the nation from kartavyapath. This time on Republic Day, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was the chief guest. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the War Memorial and paid tribute to the martyrs. During this, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, CDS Anil Chauhan, the army chiefs of the three armies were present with him. After this, PM Modi reached the Kartavyapath here he welcomed President Draupadi Murmu.
Parade lasted 90 minutes
The Republic Day parade started at around 10.30 am. It lasted 90 minutes. It showed a unique mix of military power and cultural diversity of the country. Which shows a glimpse of the country's growing indigenous capabilities, women power and a 'New India'. For the first time, a 21-gun salute was given by a 105 mm Indian field gun. These field guns replaced the old 25 pounder gun, which reflected the growing 'self-reliance' in the defense sector. Four MI-17 1V/V5 helicopters of 105 Helicopter Unit showered flowers on the spectators present on the Kartavyapath.
The parade started with taking the salute of the President. The Parade was commanded by the Parade Commander, Lieutenant General Dheeraj Seth, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, second generation Army officer. Major General Bhavnish Kumar, Chief of Staff, Delhi Area, was the Parade Second-in-Command. After this, the winners of the highest gallantry awards were included in the parade. These include the winners of Param Vir Chakra and Ashok Chakra. Param Vir Chakra winner Subedar Major (Honorary Captain) Bana Singh, 8 JAK LI (Retd); Subedar Major (Honorary Captain), Yogendra Singh Yadav, 18 Grenadiers (Retd) and Subedar (Honorary Lt) Sanjay Kumar, 13 JAK Rifles and Ashoka Chakra awardee Major General CA Pithawalla (Retd); Deputy parade on jeepColonel D Shriram Kumar and Lieutenant Colonel Jas Ram Singh (retd) were behind the commander.
Captain Raizada Shaurya Bali led the first contingent in the uniform of 61 Cavalry. 61 Cavalry is the only serving active mounted cavalry regiment in the world, which is a combination of all 'State Horse Units'. The Indian Army was represented by a mounted column of 61 Cavalry, nine mechanized columns, six marching contingents and a fly past by Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) of the Army Aviation Corps.
