75% PF Withdrawal via UPI Coming Soon, Says Mansukh Mandaviya; Check Expected Rollout Date

The initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to modernise the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) services and improve ease of access for crores of workers.

Employees will soon be able to withdraw up to 75% of their Provident Fund (PF) amount through UPI, making the process faster and more convenient. Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced that the government is preparing to roll out the new digital facility as part of its push towards simplified and tech-driven social security services.

Faster PF Withdrawal Using UPI

According to the minister, the upcoming system will allow eligible EPFO members to transfer a major portion of their PF funds directly to their bank accounts using UPI-based verification, significantly reducing processing time. Currently, PF withdrawals involve multiple steps and longer settlement periods, which the new mechanism aims to streamline.

When Will the Facility Start?

Mansukh Mandaviya said that the UPI-based PF withdrawal facility is expected to be launched in the coming months, once technical integration and security checks are completed. The initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to modernise the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) services and improve ease of access for crores of workers.

Who Will Benefit?

The new system will benefit salaried employees, private-sector workers and organised-sector employees who are EPFO members. Faster PF access will be especially helpful during emergencies, job transitions or financial needs, ensuring timely support without procedural delays.

Digital Push in Social Security Reforms

The minister highlighted that digital tools like UPI are transforming public services in India, bringing transparency, speed and efficiency. Integrating UPI with PF withdrawals reflects the government’s commitment to leveraging technology for citizen-centric governance.

What to Expect Next

Once implemented, EPFO members will be able to submit claims digitally and receive funds almost instantly, similar to other UPI-based transfers. Detailed guidelines and eligibility conditions are expected to be issued closer to the launch date.
