7th Pay Commission: A big good news for central employees on the occasion of Janmashtami. On the day of Janmashtami, central staff will receive two big excellent news at once. The central government has made the decision to make a significant statement on employee promotions and dearness allowance.

Significant Changes in Promotion Eligibility for Ministry of Defence Civilian Employees

Employees at the central office are awaiting DA for the second half of the year. The rules governing the advancement of Ministry of Defence staff have previously undergone modifications by the Central Government. The minimum qualifying service requirements for Ministry of Defence civilian employees have been enhanced, according to the information. Defence civilian employees who adhere to the pay matrix and pay levels established by the 7th Pay Commission will be subject to these amended standards. These workers’ salaries are paid concurrently from Defence Service estimates. The Defence Ministry recently released information regarding promotion eligibility in a notification. Three years of experience are needed for Levels 1 to 2, and 3 to 8 years of experience is needed for Levels 2 to 4. Similar to this, there is a provision that allows employees with experience between one year and twelve years to be promoted up to level 17.

Anticipated 3% to 45% Increase in Dearness Allowance for Government Employees

The more than one crore employees and pensioners of the government will receive Dearness Allowance (DA). For the second half, it is anticipated that DA may be raised by 3 percent to 45 percent. The increase of DA will take effect on July 1, 2023. More over one crore central government workers and retirees currently receive a 42% dearness allowance. The most recent change to the DA was made on March 24, 2023, and it took effect on January 1, 2023.
