Aam Aadmi Party: Over 100 Detained As CBI Interrogates Manish Sisodia

Aam Aadmi Party: Sanjay Singh, a member of the House of Representatives, and other AAP officials were held today following a large-scale protest by them against Manish Sisodia’s interrogation by the CBI in the liquor policy case. A Delhi Police official claimed that about 100 leaders and workers who were outside the CBI headquarters were detained; they will be freed soon.
Dramatic images showed the cops pushing the leaders into a bus. While being led to the bus, a number of the female workers said the police “misbehaved” with them.

Sanjay Singh, an AAP member of parliament, was detained in the CGO complex, where big gatherings are prohibited, along with other demonstrators, according to a senior police officer.

Earlier in the day, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi foresaw his detention as a part of what he called a BJP “plan” to prevent him from running for office in the next election in Gujarat. On his trip to the CBI office, he also conducted a tour in an open-roof SUV and stopped at a number of locations, including Raj Ghat, the site of Mahatma Gandhi’s monument, where he spoke to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) members.

Following a “tilak” ceremony, Mr. Sisodia, 50, departed his house with the help of AAP leaders such party MP Sanjay Singh and MLAs Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj. Additionally, he uploaded a video of his mother praising him.

According to insiders, the CBI has a list of inquiries that it would pose in “many phases.” They claim that the Deputy Chief Minister will be presented with the evidence that has been uncovered thus far and the statements of those who have been implicated in the “liquor fraud.”

“They broke into my house, but nothing was taken. They searched my hamlet for evidence against him, but they came up empty-handed. Now they want to arrest me so they can stop me from running for office in Gujarat. Going to jail, the CBI, or the Enforcement Directorate do not frighten me “He addressed party members travelling by and remarked.

He proclaimed, “Even Bhagat Singh had to serve his country in prison.”

The Aam Aadmi Party appears to have won the World Cup of corruption, according to the BJP, which criticised the roadshow.

It appears as though the Aam Aadmi Party has won the World Cup of corruption from the way Manish Sisodia and his supporters were chanting slogans in an open automobile on the streets today, according to BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal defended his deputy and claimed the charges against him were “totally bogus.” Additionally, he tweeted a cartoon of Mr. Sisodia dressed as a hero. The image depicts him assisting a girl with her homework while dodging arrows with the names ED and CBI. He is wielding a shield that reads “Delhi education model.”

Manish Sisodia, according to the AAP leader would be put in jail till the Gurajal poll results are released. “Results for Gujarat will be released on December 8. Manish will be kept behind bars until then by these individuals,” Kejriwal tweeted.

The Election Commission has not yet released the dates for the assembly elections in Gujarat.

Hours before being questioned, Mr. Sisodia posted a series of tweets criticising the BJP. “The BJP is terrified because it is aware that it would lose Gujarat. They want to prevent me from travelling to Gujarat,” he tweeted.

To prevent AAP workers from congregating near his house, large meetings were outlawed in the area, and a sizable police presence was visible.

AAP has challenged the ruling party in Gujarat, where Mr. Kejriwal, Mr. Sisodia, and other members of his party claim that the BJP is targeting them due to their campaign there.

In August, the CBI filed a case in a Delhi court against Mr. Sisodia and 14 other people, alleging violations of several provisions, including criminal conspiracy and corruption. The CBI is looking into whether the AAP government’s stance on alcohol helped cartels.
Following a CBI investigation suggested by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, the Arvind Kejriwal administration repealed the alcohol regulation, which had been in effect since November 17 of last year.

The Center claims that the AAP administration broke the law when it put into effect the law that closed down government-run liquor stores and gave the business to private players. According to Mr. Sisodia, the goal of the strategy is to combat corruption and the formidable booze mafia.
