AAP leaders Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain resign from Delhi cabinet, CM Kejriwal accepts resignation

Delhi ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain resign from their posts in the state cabinet. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have accepted their resignation, ANI reported. The development comes hours after Supreme Court quashed the Delhi CM's petition challenging his arrest by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Arrested Delhi ministers Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain have resigned from their cabinet. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has accepted their resignation, ANI reported.

"Delhi ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain resign from their posts in the state cabinet; CM Arvind Kejriwal accepts their resignation," ANI said in a tweet.

SC quashes Manish Sisodia's plea

The Supreme Court on Tuesday quashed Manish Sisodia's petition challenging his arrest by CBI. The SC said that it can't entertain the plea just because it's happening in Delhi. It would be a bad precedent, it said.

The court later said,” The question is not about this court not having the power. We undoubtedly have the power but the question is whether we should exercise this extraordinary power in a given case. It will set a very wrong precedent. Just because an incident occurs in Delhi, we can’t entertain it here directly.”
