Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan Insurgents were killed during a Friday night security force raid on IS hideouts in northern Balkh province, according to Zabihullah Mujahid, the chief spokesman of the caretaker government in Afghanistan.
According to the official, the raid was carried out in Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital of Afghanistan’s northern Balkh province, namely in Police Districts 5, 6, and 8.
The number of IS militants killed during the operations wasn’t made clear by Mujahid. One security personnel was also hurt, according to him, during the operations.
