Flight AI171 was headed to London on June 12 when it went down shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The Boeing 787 crashed into a hostel at BJ Medical College, triggering a massive fire. Most onboard were killed instantly. But the untouched holy book has sparked a wave of emotion online.

Crash Investigation And Government Response

Officials have confirmed this is one of India’s worst aviation disasters in recent memory. The flight had more than 241 passengers and crew. British national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh is a survivor in this incident. He is being treated at a local hospital.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit the site. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has already met with victims’ families and medical teams. Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called the tragedy heartbreaking and praised the bond between India and the UK.

A joint investigation with US and UK agencies is underway. Preliminary reports point to possible engine failure or sudden thrust loss. Black box data is now being examined.

Adding to the tension, another Air India flight (from Thailand to Delhi) had to make an emergency landing the next day due to a bomb threat. No explosives were found, but the back-to-back incidents have shaken public trust in air safety.
