Baba Ramdev has stirred fresh controversy with his explosive take on the Ahmedabad plane crash that claimed over 270 lives. The yoga guru suggested that a “foreign agency” may be behind the Air India tragedy, pointing fingers at a Turkish firm that handled the plane’s maintenance.

Here's What Baba Ramdev Said

Speaking to ANI, Baba Ramdev said, “Bahut bura haadsa tha. Jis tareeke se plane crash hua, 241 on-board yatriyon ki maut ho gayi. Poora desh mourning kar raha hai. Mujhe pata laga hai ki Turkey ki ek agency jo maintenance ka kaam karti thi, kahin usne toh koi saazish nahi rach di hai?”

He further added that the agency’s contract was cancelled two months ago, questioning the timing and raising doubts.

Ramdev called for an end to foreign involvement in critical sectors like aviation and said, “Bharat ko aviation jaise samvedansheel sectors mein 100% foreign interference khatam karni hogi.”

About Ahmedabad Plane Crash Incident

The deadly crash occurred on June 12. Air India flight AI171 (bound for London Gatwick) crashed just seconds after takeoff from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The aircraft lost altitude and crashed into a residential area near BJ Medical College, triggering a massive fire. A 'Mayday' distress call was issued moments before impact.

The crash killed 274 people, including 241 of the 242 passengers and crew. A British-Indian man named Vishwash Kumar Ramesh survived by escaping through an emergency exit that burst open. He is currently recovering in the hospital.

NDRF teams were deployed immediately. So far, 81 bodies have been recovered. Rescue work was difficult due to the fire and the plane’s heavy fuel load. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the crash site and hospitals, promising support to victims’ families.

Authorities have recovered the black box and are decoding flight data. A high-level panel led by the Union Home Secretary has begun reviewing procedures. India’s aviation regulator DGCA has ordered fresh inspections of all Air India Boeing 787 aircraft.

Airport operations remain suspended. The Indian government has launched emergency helplines. Railways deployed Vande Bharat trains to help affected travellers. The final investigation report is expected within three months.
