Akhilesh Yadav slams BJP over ‘administrative murder’ of cheetah in Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park

Akhilesh Yadav: Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, called the death of a third cheetah in Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park “administrative murder” and a “clear case of cruelty to animals” on Wednesday and asked that action be taken against those responsible. According to the Union environment ministry, a female cheetah from South Africa named Daksha passed away in Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park on Tuesday as a result of an aggressive encounter with a male during a mating attempt.

In the past month and a half, there have been three cheetah fatalities in the park. Sasha, a cheetah from Namibia, passed away on March 27 from kidney disease, while Uday, a cheetah from South Africa, passed away on April 13. Yadav said in Hindi on Twitter that the third cheetah’s death in Kuno was truly an official murder. The BJP party, which merely gathered individuals for political showoff, also has a duty to keep imported cheetahs healthy and free from disease and intergroup warfare.

BJP spokesperson Narendra Saluja responded to Akhilesh Yadav’s tweet by saying that the politician is not deterred from engaging in politics despite the terrible deaths of cheetahs. He should be aware that wildlife specialists from Namibia and South Africa had chosen Kunoo National Park as the greatest spot in the nation for cheetahs before introducing them there. Cheetah deaths are tragic, but linking them to politics reveals Akhilesh Yadav’s political philosophy, Saluja remarked. Prior to the start of the monsoon, experts will release five more cheetahs into the wild, keeping the remaining animals in their walled acclimatisation camps until the rainy season is finished. In order to offer the cheetahs more room and to promote relationships between particular males and females, they have also chosen to open some of the internal gates of the enclosed enclosures, according to PTI.
