Kumar also informed that the registration for the Amarnath Yatra will start from April 11 this year.

He said that a Yatri Niwas has been built in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, which can accommodate 3000 pilgrims. The board expects an average of over three lakh pilgrims to visit the temple this year.

According to the board official, “Registration for the Yatra will be held on April 11 at 446 branches of J&K Bank. Along with this, registration will start in 100 branches of PNB Bank, Yes Bank and SBI Bank across the country. He told that we are expecting more than three lakh pilgrims.

Amarnath Yatra could not be organized in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019 too, the yatra was suspended a few days before August 5. When the Center abrogated Article 370 and revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, bifurcating the state into two union territories.
