Amrit Bharat Train: Good news for rail passengers! Indian Railways is set to launch an upgraded version of the Amrit Bharat Express train, developed by Chennai’s Integral Coach Factory (ICF). Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently inspected the new sleeper and general coaches, revealing several modern upgrades that promise to enhance passenger comfort.

Advanced Features and Push-Pull Technology
The Amrit Bharat Train 2.0 boasts Push-Pull technology, with locomotives at both ends for better acceleration and a smoother ride. It can achieve speeds of up to 130 kmph and features semi-automatic couplers for jerk-free travel and easy connections. The train will have 22 coaches, including sleeper, general, and Divyangjan-friendly coaches.

The Amrit Bharat Train 2.0 introduces an array of modern amenities for a luxurious travel experience:
Foldable snack tables and bottle holders
Mobile holders at every seat
Improved seats and berths for extra comfort
Radium-illuminated flooring strips for safety
Tejas-type gangways for smooth movement between coaches
Toilets equipped with an Electro-Pneumatic Pressurized Flushing System, automatic hygiene odour control, and automatic soap dispensers
FRP modular toilets with Indian and Western-style options
Streamlined LED lighting and aerosol-based fire suppression systems in critical areas
Toilet indication lights and a Public Address and Passenger Information System (PAPIS) for real-time updates
Enhanced Safety and Accessibility
The train includes Divyangjan-friendly toilets, mobile charging points for every passenger, and 160KN Air Spring bogies for stability. Its screwless interior panelling provides a sleek, modern look.
Currently, two Amrit Bharat Express trains operate on the Darbhanga-Anand Vihar and Malda Town-SMVT Bengaluru routes. With the upcoming launch of Amrit Bharat Train 2.0, Indian Railways aims to set a new benchmark in luxury and efficiency for long-distance travel.
