CJP Protest: The Executive Magistrate ordered the release of the three leaders on condition that they do not breach the peace for one year, CJP legal head Ratna Singh said. Lawbeat reported they furnished surety bonds of ₹50,000 each. Police had invoked Sections 126 and 170 of the BNSS. Section 126 allows a magistrate to require a bond to keep the peace for up to one year.

Detained at the Airport
Police detained the trio from an Air India aircraft shortly after it landed in Delhi on Saturday. They were later produced before the magistrate at Delhi Cantt. Police said the detention was to prevent disruption of law and order. All other detainees were released on Saturday night, except these three.

CJP Protest: The CJP said Delhi Police had been “forced” to release the leaders and added that “cockroaches never die.” Dhruv Rathee, detained separately in Gurugram, was also released after being warned against going to Jantar Mantar.
Numbers Remain Disputed
Delhi Police said nearly 2,500 protesters were detained on Saturday. PTI, citing police sources, reported more than 7,000 detentions. Other measures included cancelled trains, 45 closed Metro stations and suspended mobile internet in central Delhi.
What Next
CJP Protest: The Supreme Court is holding a special sitting on a petition challenging the preventive detentions of political leaders, former chief ministers, students and journalists. Police are likely to register FIRs over alleged assaults on personnel during the protest. The CJP had urged supporters to gather at Jantar Mantar on Sunday, but the peace bond limits what its leaders can safely do.
