Anurag Dhanda: Terror Attacks in India After 2014: List Highlights Major Incidents, Including Pahalgam Attack

A social media post by Aam Aadmi Party leader Anurag Dhanda has drawn attention to a list of major terrorist and militant attacks reported in India since 2014.

Dhanda shared a year-wise compilation of security incidents, covering attacks on security forces, military installations, civilians and pilgrimage groups. The list also refers to the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, one of the most significant recent attacks on civilians in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the post, the incidents cited include attacks and militant operations reported in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country between 2014 and 2025.

The compilation includes the following incidents:

• 2014: Kathua truck hijacking, Baranda Mor landmine explosion, Arnia suicide attack and Uri suicide attack.
• 2015: Kathua police station suicide attack and a militant attack in Shopian district.
• 2016: Pathankot airbase attack, Baramulla military convoy ambush and the Uri attack.
• 2017: Shopian patrol party attack, Kulgam bank van ambush, Anantnag military convoy ambush and the Amarnath Yatra attack.
• 2018: Sopore IED blast, Sunjuwan military station attack, Shopian’s Arhama militant attack and the Kulgam Laroo village attack.
• 2019: Pulwama terror attack, Anantnag security forces ambush and an attack targeting Bengali labourers.
• 2020: CRPF patrol attack.
• 2021: Srinagar police vehicle ambush.
• 2022: Rajouri suicide attack, which was reported as having been foiled.
• 2023: Army vehicle ambush.
• 2024: Reasi terror attack and Kathua army convoy attack.
• 2025: Pahalgam terror attack.

The list reflects the continuing security challenges posed by terrorism and militancy, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir, where several of the incidents occurred.

Pahalgam attack among recent major incidents

The 2025 Pahalgam attack is included as the latest incident in the compilation. The attack brought renewed attention to security arrangements in the region and the threat posed to civilians and tourists.

The social media post also claimed that an additional terror incident involving the area around the Red Fort in Delhi should be included in the compilation.
