Arunachal Pradesh: Two pilots killed in Indian Army chopper crash

Cheetah Helicopter Crash: Indian Army’s Cheetah helicopter crashed on Thursday (March 16) near the Mandla hill area of ​​Arunachal Pradesh. Both the pilots aboard the plane have been martyred in the accident. Army officials gave this information to news agency ANI. He said that five search teams of Army, Sashastra Seema Bal and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) had been sent. The wreckage of the plane was found near Banglajap village of Mandla.

The army said that a court of inquiry is being done. Ordered to find out the cause of the accident. Earlier, a defense spokesperson had told that a Cheetah helicopter of the army crashed in the morning near Mandla, west of Bomdila in Arunachal Pradesh.

Flight was filled at 9 am

There were two pilots in the helicopter carrying two army officers. The army said that this helicopter had taken off from Sange village in the district at 9 am and was going to Missamari in Sonitpur district of Assam. There was a lieutenant and a major in it. Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Rawat told that the air traffic control (ATC) lost contact with this helicopter at around 9.15 am, which was on operational flight.

Crashed near Mandla

He said the helicopter crashed near Mandla, west of Bomdila. Search and rescue teams were sent to the spot. Special Investigation Branch Superintendent of Police Rohit Rajbir Singh said that villagers in Dirang saw the crashed helicopter burning and informed the district administration officials.

He said that the villagers of Bangjlep in Dirang saw the helicopter burning at around 12:30. He said that there is no ‘mobile connectivity’ in that area and so much fog has spread that the visibility has reduced to just five meters. Late in the evening, the army said that both the pilots have died in the accident.
