Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has hit back sharply at critics questioning his inclusion in an all-party delegation meant to convey a unified message against terrorism. Responding to the uproar, Owaisi said,

“If I’ve been included in the delegation, should I stop sitting in Parliament now? Does that mean I support terrorism?”

In a strong and emotional statement, Owaisi added,

“No one has the authority to hand me a certificate of patriotism. Koi maai ka laal paida nahi hua who can say I’m against the country.”

Defending his participation, Owaisi emphasized that he believes in the Constitution of India and that if he is part of a delegation aimed at sending a message against terrorism, there should be no issue with that.

“As an elected Member of Parliament, I have every right to participate in national and foreign policy discussions,” he asserted.

Addressing allegations and insinuations, Owaisi questioned,

“Does the Constitution say that an AIMIM MP cannot be part of any delegation?”

He concluded by saying that while the nation must stand united against terrorism, questioning someone’s patriotism for political gain is unacceptable.

“I am a citizen of India and a representative of the people. No one gets to decide who is a patriot and who isn’t,” he declared.

He also criticized the trend of branding anyone who raises questions or holds differing views as “anti-national.” According to him, this mindset is dangerous for the health of a democracy. “Dissent and debate are part of democracy. Disagreeing doesn’t make someone a traitor,” he stated.

Wrapping up his remarks, Owaisi called for maturity and responsibility in political discourse, especially on sensitive national issues.

“You can’t claim to fight terrorism and simultaneously spread hatred within the country. India belongs to every citizen, and I will continue to raise my voice as long as I’m elected by the people,” he concluded.
