Auto, Taxi Fares Hiked In Delhi

There is bad news for the people of the capital Delhi. If you use taxi or auto to go anywhere in Delhi, then you will have to loose your pocket more now. Auto and taxi drivers in Delhi have increased their fares.

Now you will have to spend at least 30 rupees for an auto ride on the roads of Delhi. Earlier this price was Rs 25. Apart from this, instead of Rs 9.5 per km, the fare will be Rs 11 for onward ride. Non AC and AC taxi fare has been increased from Rs 25 to Rs 40 for the first 1 kilometer. At the same time, after 1 km, the fare of non-AC taxi has been increased from Rs 14 per kilometer to Rs 17 per kilometer. Whereas the fare of AC taxi has been increased from Rs 16 per km to Rs 20 per km.

There has been no change in the night charge of autos and taxis. Night charge for autos was 25 per cent earlier which has been retained. Night charge starts from 11 am till 5 am. The minute on waiting charge for auto was Rs 0.75 which has been retained. Extra baggage charge has been increased. Earlier it was Rs 7.5 which has been increased to Rs 10.

If we talk about waiting and night charge in taxi, then the waiting charge for that was earlier 30 rupees per hour. This charge was for both AC and non AC taxis. Now it has been increased to Re 1 per minute. However, there is no waiting charge for 15 minutes. Extra luggage charge has been increased from Rs 10 to Rs 15. This applies to both types of taxis. Night charge for taxis has also been retained at 25 per cent.
