Death due to spurious liquor in Bihar is not taking the name of stopping. The number of people who died due to poisonous liquor is increasing continuously. So far 80 people have lost their lives in this incident. The police was very active after this accident. But till then the police had not arrested any big liquor baron. But now with great success SIT has arrested the most notorious liquor smuggler Akhilesh Rai alias Akhilesh Yadav.
30 people lost their eyesight
SIT team was constituted by the Bihar Police regarding the death due to spurious liquor in Chhapra, Saran. After which this team raided late on Sunday night. During this the team arrested 94 liquor smugglers. Along with this, the restaurant operator was caught in Madhaura. Whereas in Manjhi, the product police caught the liquor coming from UP from the tractor. In which 15 people were also arrested. 80 people have died in this incident so far. There have been reports of loss of eyesight of 30 people after drinking the same poisonous liquor. During the raid, the police also recovered spirit bottles from several houses.
The Commission is concerned to know where and what kind of medical treatment is being provided to these victims. Most of them are from poor families and probably cannot afford expensive treatment in private hospitals. Therefore, it becomes absolutely necessary on the part of the State Government to provide the best possible medical treatment to them wherever available.
The statement said that according to media reports circulating on Saturday, five deaths were reported in Siwan district and one in Begusarai district, while the death toll in Saran district was rising following the December 14 spurious liquor tragedy. So far 65 people have died. Officials had said on Friday that the NHRC has issued notices to the Bihar government and the state police chief over the Saran poisoning tragedy.
