Sam Pitroda: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has criticised senior Congress leader Sam Pitroda for saying that “temples are not going to create jobs.” Pitroda, who travelled with Rahul Gandhi to the US, claimed that the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is disregarding socioeconomic issues and concentrating on religious issues.
Sam Pitroda Highlights Socioeconomic Concerns Amidst Temple Debates
“Unemployment, inflation, education, and health are issues we face. Nobody discusses these topics. However, everyone speaks of Ram, Hanuman, and the mandir. At a gathering where Rahul Gandhi was also present, Pitroda declared, “I have said that temples are not going to create jobs. Amit Malvviya Tweeted, “venom on Hindus and denigrate Temples.” He called Rahul Gandhi’s silence an endorsement of a “Hinduphobic diatribe” and singled him out for it.

Sam Pitroda’s Previous Statements Stirred Up Political Storms
Pitroda, the Indian Overseas Congress chair, has also made some contentious statements in the past. Pitroda’s attempt to deflect inquiries about the recent anti-Sikh riots by saying “hua toh hua (what happened, happened)” caused the Congress party significant embarrassment in 2019. Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, then referred to Pitroda’s comments as “absolutely wrong” and demanded that he apologise to the country. Pitroda allegedly stated that India shouldn’t have invaded Pakistan after the airstrike that followed the incident in Pulwama in 2019. The Congress leader had before said that Indian society has been increasingly divided over the previous nine years. He said, “On the one hand, there is Hindu, and on the other, there is everything else.”
