BrahMos: Philippines is buying BrahMos missile from India

India and the Philippines on Friday will sign a deal worth US $ 375 million for the sale of BrahMos supersonic anti-ship cruise missile. The Philippines is buying BrahMos missiles from India for its Navy. Top defense officials of the Philippines will be present on this special occasion, while India will be represented by its ambassador. Government officials have given this information. The Philippines is making these purchases to supply anti-ship missiles to be deployed on its coast.

For the past few months, tension with China has increased a lot over the water sector. Chinese ships have been camping for several months in the waters that the Philippines claims as its own. Despite all the efforts of the Philippines, they are not ready to go. In such a situation, by taking BrahMos missile from India, they are trying to strengthen their navy more. This is such a deal, which will definitely give a setback to China, which is showing grandeur in the South China Sea. BrahMos is such a missile, from which a country like China is also very afraid.

The BrahMos supersonic anti-ship cruise missile can strike a range of 350 to 400 km. Meaning that all the work of the enemy standing at such a distance can be done with this. The missile can be fired at Mach 2.8, about 3 times the speed of sound. Recently a new version of it was also tested. This test conducted on 20 January off the coast of Odisha was successful. In technical terms, the missile is equipped with new features. The specialty of BrahMos is that it can be launched from anywhere on a submarine, warship, plane or platform located on the ground.

Brah means 'Brahmaputra' in Brahmos, while Mos means 'Moskva' (Meaning of BrahMos). Moskva is the name of a river flowing in Russia. This missile is counted among the most lethal and dangerous missiles of the 21st century. It can easily escape from enemy radar. The accuracy of this missile makes it different from other weapons.
