President Droupadi Murmu will address both Houses of Parliament on Friday, January 31, 2025, marking the commencement of the Budget Session. The address will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the Lok Sabha Chamber of Parliament House, New Delhi.
Schedule of the Budget Session
The Budget Session of Parliament will be conducted in two parts:
First Part: January 31 to February 13, 2025
Second Part: March 10 to April 4, 2025
Following the President's address, the Rajya Sabha will reconvene half an hour later for a separate sitting to conduct government business. Copies of the President's Address will be made available to Members of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha lobby immediately after it is laid on the Table of the House by the Secretary-General. Members who miss collecting their copies can obtain them from the Publications Counter (26-A, Samvidhan Sadan).
Discussion on President’s Address
Provisional dates for the discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address have been set for February 3, 4, and 6, 2025. The final day, February 6, will include a reply to the discussion.
The President’s address traditionally outlines the government’s policies and priorities for the year, setting the tone for legislative and policy discussions in Parliament.
