The Ahmedabad–Delhi bullet train corridor is set to transform transportation in Rajasthan by connecting 7 key districts—Alwar, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, and Dungarpur—through a high-speed 878 km rail line. Proposed at a speed of 350 km/h, it will cover the distance very quickly.
Bullet Train to Pass Through 7 Districts of Rajasthan on the Ahmedabad–Delhi Route
India's big plan to build a bullet train between Ahmedabad and Delhi will connect seven major towns in Rajasthan to high-speed rail. The planned corridor will be about 878 kilometres long, and about 657 kilometres (75%) of it will go through Rajasthan. This will greatly improve the state's economy and connectivity.
The route and the areas it covers
Alwar, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, and Dungarpur will all be stopped by the fast train. There will be 11 stations along this line. Seven of them will be in Rajasthan: Udaipur, Kherwara (Dungarpur), Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Jaipur, and Behror (Alwar). This corridor should have a good effect on about 335 villages.
Building and Technical Information
Ashwini Vaishnaw, the railway minister, said earlier that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the high-speed train corridor between Ahmedabad and Delhi is ready. At the same time, work is still being done on the corridor between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. So far, about 300 kilometres of track have been built.
The bullet train will probably go between 320 and 350 km/h, which will cut travel times by a huge amount and make the experience feel like something from the future. When the fast train starts running, the trip from Delhi to Ahmedabad could be cut down to just 3.5 to 5 hours, down from the current 12 hours.
Udaipur and Other Important Spots
About 127 kilometres of the planned route in Udaipur will go through rough terrain, with five river crossings and several tunnels. Even though the engineering is complicated, the city will gain a lot, especially in terms of business and tourist growth. Jodhpur, which isn't on the direct route, is also likely to play a big part in testing infrastructure because a 64-kilometre research track is being built nearby.
A Look at the Route
The route will start in Delhi's Dwarka Sector 21 and go through Gurugram, Manesar, Rewari, and the Shahjahanpur border of Alwar before connecting with NH-48. After that, it will go through Jaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, and finally Ahmedabad.
Timeline and a Look at the Future
People see the passage between Delhi and Ahmedabad as an extension of the bullet train project between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The DPR is done, but the project still needs to buy land and get other approvals. Officials think that work will start in 2027 or 2028 and be finished in 2031.
Last Thought
This bullet train project is going to change how people can travel between states, which will have a huge positive impact on Rajasthan's economy, tourists, and real estate market. Once it's up and running, it will change the way long-distance travel is done in India and put Rajasthan on the map of high-speed trains around the world.
