Burnt bodies of two Muslim men from Rajasthan found in Haryana; cow vigilantism suspected 

Cow Vigilantism: On Thursday, burnt bodies of two men were found in a car in Haryana. After the bodies were discovered, case was filed against five men, suspected to be cow vigilante. Two Muslim men — Nasir and Junaid — had been kidnapped from Rajasthan’s Bharatpur on Wednesday and brought to Haryana. Their families have filed a complaint in the matter. The police has suspected cow vigilantism in the case.

Burnt bodies of Muslim men found in car

Burnt bodies of two men were found in in a Mahindra Bolero SUV on Thursday morning in Haryana’s Bhiwani district.

“The brunt bodies of two unidentified men have been found in the car. To ascertain whether the two men are the same who were kidnapped, out team has gone to the spot with the family members. After post-mortem and DNA analyses, their identification will be verified,” Bharatpur Inspector General Gaurav Srivastava said. 

Police is yet to establish if the two were burnt alive or died in a fire. Meanwhile, the families have identified the car and told police that the owner of the car was known to Nasir and Junaid.

Bajrang Dal connection 

The police is also investigating if cow vigilantism was involved in the deaths of Junaid and Nasir. As per the police, five cases of cow smuggling had been filed against Junaid while Nasir had no criminal record. Monu Manesar, Lokesh Singhla, Rink Saini, Anil and Srikant are the five men accused in the death. All five accused have been claimed to be cow vigilantes. Monu Manesar is a member of right-wing organisation Bajrang Dal.

Rajasthan CM condemns the killing

Condemning the incident, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that police have been directed to take strict action in the case.

“The killing of two residents of Bharatpur’s Ghatmeeka’s village in Haryana is condemnable. Rajasthan and Haryana police are coordinating with each other for the probe… Rajasthan Police has been directed to take strict action,” the chief minister tweeted.
