Car Rams Scooter, Carries Rider For 350 meter in Delhi

The roads of the country’s capital Delhi are not taking the name of being safe. The case of a girl getting trapped under a car and dragging it for 13 kilometers after a collision with a scooty in Kanjhawala area on New Year’s night has not cooled down. Now a similar case has come to the fore in Kanhaiya Nagar area. At Prerna Chowk in Kanhaiya Nagar, a car rammed into a scooty late on Thursday night, causing both the youths riding on it to fall. One youth fell on the bonnet of the car, while the other fell on the roof of the car. Scooty also got stuck in the bumper of the car, but the car driver instead of stopping the vehicle, ran faster. The car driver was caught after about 300 meters, but by then a young man had died. Police has arrested 5 people in the car in this case.

Clashed in front of policemen

On Thursday night at around 3 pm, two PCR vans of Keshavpuram police station reached Prerna Chowk in Kanhaiya Nagar. The policemen were sharing the condition of the area among themselves, when the Tata Zest car, which came at a very high speed, hit an Activa scooty. As soon as the collision occurred, the scooty fell down and got stuck on the bumper of the car, while one youth jumped on the roof of the car and the other fell on the bonnet in front of the windscreen. The policemen raised an alarm, but the car driver instead of stopping the vehicle, drove away.

PCR van chased and caught the car

The policemen ran the PCR van behind the car and stopped the car after about 300 meters. There were 5 people including the driver in the car. The police arrested all five. The policemen of the PCR van took both the youths to the hospital, but by then one youth had died. The treatment of another youth is going on, but his condition is also said to be serious. The youth who died has been identified as Kailash Bhatnagar, while the name of the injured has been mentioned as Sumit Khari. Both were returning after working in a cloth jeans factory.

The accused were returning from marriage, had consumed alcohol

According to the Keshavpuram police station, the five youths caught in the car are students and were returning from a wedding ceremony. In the medical examination, it has been confirmed that all five were intoxicated.

According to the police, a case has been registered against the five under IPC section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) as well as section 304A, section 338, section 279 and section 34.
