CBI files chargesheet against 6 including two navy commanders for leaking submarine information

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a charge sheet against six people, including two naval commanders and two retired naval officers, for giving confidential information related to the country’s Kilo class submarines to unauthorized persons. Sources gave this information. According to sources, all the six people have been charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code. The CBI has said that the accused were passing information about the Medium Refit Life Certification (MRLC) program of Kilo class submarines of India to unauthorized persons. The matter came to the fore when the CBI arrested retired naval officers Randeep Singh and SJ Singh on September 3.

According to CBI sources, the accused had given confidential information about the Medium Refit Life Certification and MRLC program of India’s Kilo class submarines to unauthorized persons. In this case, the CBI had arrested retired naval officers Randeep Singh and SJ Singh in September. After which this matter came in front of the media. 2 crore cash was also recovered from Randeep Singh. In October, the CBI had informed about the arrest of five people, including a Navy Commander rank officer, in this case of leaking confidential information related to the submarine.

Based on the investigation, the CBI arrested Commander Ajit Kumar Pandey, posted at the Western Naval Command Headquarters. Another commander, who was working under Commander Pandey and posted in the same headquarters, was also arrested thereafter. The CBI has today filed a charge sheet to stop the bail of the arrested accused. CBI investigation in the case is currently underway.
