The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will close the List of Candidates (LOC) data correction window on Monday, October 27, 2025. Schools have been directed to submit accurate student data for Class 10 and 12 board examinations through the official website — cbse.gov.in.

Correction window for key student details

CBSE has allowed schools to make corrections or modifications in students’ personal particulars, including name, parents’ names, date of birth, and subjects. The board has stressed that this is the final opportunity for any data rectification before the 2026 board exams.

Parents advised to verify crucial details

Parents have been requested to double-check all details before final submission. CBSE issued a detailed advisory highlighting points to be ensured:

  1. Verify that the name, date of birth, mother’s name, and father’s name are filled in accurately.
  2. Ensure expanded names (not short forms) are used, as documents in full form are often required later.
  3. Include a surname if the student plans to study abroad, as it is a requirement in several countries.
  4. Reconfirm that the date of birth is accurate and matches official records.
  5. Cross-check details with the passport, if issued.
  6. Ensure subjects are selected correctly in the LOC for both Class 10 and Class 12, as no changes will be allowed later.
  7. Parents are fully responsible for verifying the accuracy of their child’s data before submission.

Final chance before examinations

According to CBSE, the data correction facility aims to assist schools, parents, and students in ensuring that all entries are correct for the smooth conduct of the 2026 board exams. Once the window closes, no further changes or corrections will be entertained under any circumstances.
