Manipur Violence: The state of Manipur’s development and peace are the government’s top priorities, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who on Tuesday gave security personnel strong orders to deal with any actions that threaten the state’s tranquilly.

Review Conference Decisions for Manipur’s Stability

Shah made this statement following a review conference with senior Manipur Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and Indian Army personnel. In order to lower prices, the committee also determined to make sure that necessities like petrol, LPG gas, rice and other food products will be made widely available. As part of initiatives to restore peace in the state torn apart by racial conflict, the home minister is currently in Manipur. Shah, who arrived in a chopper with the head of the IB and the home secretary, met with Kuki intellectuals and church leaders to learn about their grievances and to discuss ways to bring peace to the northeastern state, which has seen numerous clashes between Meiteis and Kukis.

Families of Manipur Clashes Victims to Receive Rs 10 Lakh Relief

The government has declared that as part of a compensation package developed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in consultation with the N Biren Singh-led Manipur cabinet, the families of civilians killed in ethnic clashes in Manipur since the start of the violent clashes on May 3, 2023, will receive a relief of Rs 10 lakh each. According to reports, the Manipuri government and the federal government will split the cost of the payout 50:50. The government is considering offering a government job to any qualifying member of the next of kin of those murdered in the violent confrontations in addition to the monetary compensation. On the other hand, the state administration has been told to try to find a solution with the assistance of the Centre in order to guarantee a constant supply of necessities to the residents of the crisis-hit state.
