CNG prices hiked across Delhi-NCR, other cities; to cost Rs 79.56 per kg in Delhi

CNG prices: Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) hiked prices of compressed natural gas (CNG) with effect from Saturday. CNG now costs Rs 79.56 per kg in Delhi, Rs 82.12 per kg in Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and Rs.87.89 per kg in Gurugram.

"Due to increased input gas cost, w.e.f., 6 am on 17.12.2022, @IGLSocial  revises CNG retail price," the IGL informed on Twitter.

Now the CNG prices city-wise are:

•             Delhi Rs 79.56 per kg

•             Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad Rs 82.12 per kg.

•             Gurugram Rs 87.89 per kg.

•             Rewari Rs 89.57 per kg.

•             Karnal and Kaithal Rs 88.22 per kg.

•             Muzzaffarnagar, Shamli, and parts of Meerut Rs 86.79 per kg.

•             Ajmer, Pali, and Rajasamand Rs 89.83 per kg.

•             Kanpur, Fatehpur, and Hamirpur remains unchanged.

Cab services hit hard

This price hike will hit cab services hard. Those who travel by auto every day will have to shell out more.

The CNG price in Delhi increased from Rs 75.61 to Rs 78.61 in October just ahead of Diwali. In Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad, the CNG price was revised from Rs 78.17 to Rs 81.17.

Since April 2021, CNG prices have gone up by Rs 36.16 per kg which is about 80 per cent.

Gas prices are revised twice annually — from April 1 to September 30 and from October 1 to March 31.
