Reports surfacing about the potential exit of Sachin Pilot from Congress and the creation of his own party have been officially dismissed. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Congress’ overseer for Rajasthan, emphasized that Pilot never harboured intentions of initiating a new party in the past and continues to remain committed to the Congress party. This statement came amidst brewing speculations about Pilot’s next steps, and its effect on Congress’s presence in Rajasthan.
Pilot-Gehlot Feud Under Control
Over the past few years, Sachin Pilot and Rajasthan’s Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot, have been embroiled in a notable conflict. The disagreement took a particularly intense turn in 2020, with Pilot relocating to a resort near Gurugram alongside his loyalists. This move significantly threatened the stability of the Congress-led government in Rajasthan. However, Randhawa disclosed that a harmonising solution is on the horizon, following extensive discussions on the issue. He stated, “We’ve achieved a settlement formula that addresses almost all of the discord between the two leaders. Their joint media appearance in Delhi serves as evidence of this advancement.”
Rajasthan Elections and Congress’s Strategy
As the Congress party gears up for the forthcoming elections in Rajasthan, their goal is to emulate their successful campaign in Karnataka. According to party insiders, Sachin Pilot is expected to adhere to the party high command’s instructions while deciding his future course of action. Amidst this politically heated environment, the resolution of the Pilot-Gehlot feud will significantly aid in bolstering the party’s electoral strategy and objectives.
