Congress leader Pawan Khera has been at the helm of controversy after he mispronounced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name. On Thursday, he was deboarded from an IndiGo plane at the Delhi Airport. He was a part of the Congress delegation that was bound to Raipur, Chhattisgarh. A video of the incident has now gone viral which showed Supriya Shrinate, Randeep Singh Surjewala, KC Venugopal boarding the Indigo flight.
Pawan Khera deboarded from Indigo flight
Congress leader Pawan Khera was stopped from boarding an IndiGo flight. He was accompanied by the Congress Delegation expected to reach Raipur to attend the 85th plenary session of the Congress. After the incident, Congress leaders Supriya Shrinate, Randeep Singh Surjewala, KC Venugopal were seen chanting ‘BJP Hai Hai’ in unison. The Congress leaders also staged a protest at Delhi airport tarmac, shouting slogans and staging a sit-in right next to the aircraft. Delhi Police has said that Assam Police had requested to stop Pawan Khera from flying.
“We are all on the @IndiGo6E flight 6E 204 to Raipur and all of a sudden my colleague @Pawankhera has been asked to deplane. What sort of high handedness is this? Is there any rule of law? On what grounds is this being done and under whose order?” Surpita Shrinate tweeted.
“This is a dictatorial attitude. The dictator got ED raids done before the session and now he has come down to this kind of act,” the Congress tweeted.
Modi govt is acting like a bunch of goons by deplaning @Pawankhera ji from the Delhi-Raipur flight and preventing him from joining the AICC Plenary.

Using a flimsy FIR to restrict his movement & silence him is a shameful, unacceptable act. The entire party stands with Pawan ji. pic.twitter.com/mKVeuRGnfR
Pawan Khera controversy
Pawan Khera was recently criticised for referring to Narendra Damodardas Modi as Narendra Gautamdas Modi at a press conference on Adani issue.
Reacting to this, BJP leader Amit Malviya had said, “Congress has further lowered the level of politics by making such remarks against the PM.”
