Coronavirus update: India recorded 35,178 new cases today, nearly 40% higher than yesterday

New Delhi: India recorded 35,178 new covid 19 cases today, nearly 40% higher than yesterday's 25,166 cases. Almost 440 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours adding to the total of 4,32,519, as per the health ministry's update.

The current caseload across the country is 3,67,415, lower in 148 days.
The active cases constitute 1.14% of the total cases which is the lowest since March 2020. The daily positivity rate is at 1.96 %, less than 3% for the last 23 days.

The recovery rate currently is at 97.52%, fortunately, the highest since March 2020. Almost 3,14,85,923 people have recovered in the last 24 hours. As many as 56.06 vaccine doses have been administered across India by now, with 55,05,075 doses being administered in the last 24 hours.

Samples tested on August 17 is 17,97,559 adding to the total of 49,84,27,083 samples tested by now.

The national capital reported 38 fresh covid case adding to the total of 14,37,156 cases with 471 active case. As many as 30 patients got recovered in the last 24 hours, adding to the total number of 14,11,612.

Kerala contributed the highest number of covid cases in the last 24 hours. It reported 21,613 cases of covid infection yesterday, adding to the total of 1,75,695 cases. As many as 2,930 patients got recovered and 127 patients lost their life due of covid in the last 24 hours.
