New Delhi: India reported 44,658 fresh cases over last 24 hours while 496 patients died due to covid in past one day. India has set a new milestone with at least 50 percent of the eligible population being inpculated with the first dose of Covid vaccine.
The daily positivity rate remains less than 3 percent for the last 28 days and is presently at 2.10 per cent. Active cases constitute 1.06% of total cases, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands 97.60 per cent, said the Union Health Ministry.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya twitted on Thursday to inform that 50 per cent of the eligible population is vaccinated with first dose of the vaccine. “India achieves unprecedented milestone! 50 per cent of the eligible population inoculated with the first dose of #COVID19 vaccine. Keep it up India. Let us fight Corona,” he wrote.
Delhi recorded 45 fresh covid cases and no death in the last 24 hours. Almost 21 patients recovered from covid in past one day.
Kerala contribited 30,077 cases in the past 24 hours adding to the total of 39,13,506 cases. The southern state has been reporting the most number of coronavirus cases in the country.
Maharashtra, reported 5,108 new covid cases and 145 deaths in the last 24 hours.
The world recorded 215,499,097 covid cases and 4,488,945 death due to it in the last 24 hours. However, 192,686,314 patients got recovered in past one day.
