Snooping case: The Centre has given a nod to the CBI to launch a probe against Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in a snooping case. The Delhi Dy CM has been accused of snooping on rival parties. This comes as a setback to Sisodia who is already facing a CBI probe in the Delhi Liquor policy case. After the Centre sanctioned prosecution in the snooping case, he took to Twitter to hit back at the opposition.

Sisodia hits back after prosecution in snooping case

The snooping allegations against Sisodia were brought to notice after a report claimed that the Aam Aadmi Party formed a feedback unit for intelligence gathering after coming to power in 2015.

Sisodia on Wednesday took to his Twitter and termed the act as ‘cowardly,’ adding such cases will continue ‘against us as the Aam Aadmi Party grows’.

The Ministry of Home Affairs sanctioned  to prosecute Sisodia under the Prevention of Corruption Act in the Feedback Unit (FBU) snooping case. The Flu was created under  the Vigilance Department handled by Sisodia in 2015 after the AAP came in Delhi.

The FBU was proposed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in 2015 in cabinet, but no agenda note was circulated. The LG was not informed of the appointments in the FB, the report claimed.

A few weeks ago, a CBI report had erupted a political war which claimed FBU was involved in gathering relevant information and feedback regarding the various department working under the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD).  The unit which came into being in 2016 functioned on an expenditure of Rs 1 crore, the report said.
