Dayanidhi Maran: ‘North Indian Girls Asked to Be in the Kitchen…’ DMK MP’s North India, Anti Hindi Rant Ignites Firestorm, Is Regional Hate The New Normal?

Dayanidhi Maran: Dayanidhi Maran has remarked women in North India are just meant for working in the kitchen and bearing children while women in Tamil Nadu are asked to study.

Dayanidhi Maran: Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Member of Parliament Dayanidhi Maran has sparked a massive political row after he degraded North Indian women.

A four-time MP from Chennai Central, Maran remarked that women in North India are just meant for working in the kitchen and bearing children while women in Tamil Nadu are asked to study.

Addressing students at Quaid-E-Millath Government College for Women, the DMK MP remarked that Tamil Nadu is the land of Anna (former Chief Minister CN Annadurai,  the land of Kalaignar (former Chief Minister late M Karunanidhi) and (Chief Minister) MK Stalin. He said global companies come to Tamil Nadu as everyone here is educated in Tamil and English.

Dayanidhi Maran And Stalin Turn Negative Comments Against North Indians

Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Deputy Chief Minister and MK Stalin’s son, distributed laptops under the Ulagam Ungal Kaiyil scheme to students. Stalin remarked girls contribute significantly to the society once they complete their education.

Narayanan Thirupathy, BJP spokesperson in Tamil Nadu, remarked Dayanidhi Maran has abused north Indian people. Thirupathy remarked he does not think Maran has common sense and this kind of cheap talk is regular from DMK.

North Indians Only Good for Toilet Cleaning

In another development, Maran remarked that people who only Hindi in the states of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are good enough only to work in road paving, construction and cleaning toilets. Maran added that those who speak English work in reputed IT companies for good salaries.

The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) said Maran must apologize to the people of India, especially those from the northern states, after he portrayed them as “uneducated, backward and uncivilized.”

The 2011 official census data shows that the female literacy rate of Tamil Nadu stands at approximately 73.44 percent, which is higher than that of northern states like Haryana (65.94 percent), Uttar Pradesh (57.18 percent) and Rajasthan (52.12 percent) though northern states like Himachal Pradesh report a staggering percentage of 75.93.
